Despite going up 4-0 including three home runs on as many pitches, the Reds just couldn't hold it together and went down to the Giants 6-5 today. I really have to wonder where this team is going this year - they've proven that they can play well, but lately their offense and defense can't seem to be on the same page.

Here's the box score from Fox Sports:

After two disappointing losses in the past three days, the Reds bats once again came alive today as they pounded the Giants 12-4 to split the series at 2 games each. Hopefully this kind of offense can continue as they head out west for the next week to face the As and then the Giants again before returning home next Tuesday.

Rather uneventful game for the Reds tonight. After a delay of over an hour and a half due to issues with the lights in left field, the game got underway at 11:45 Cincinnati time. Unfortunately the Reds offense fell silent and the Reds fell 2-0 without even getting a single hit.

After a disappointing loss in extra innings last night, the Reds managed to hold off Oakland today, winning 3-0 to avoid the sweep. Next they travel to San Francisco to face the Giants in a weekend series before returning home next week to face the Cubs and Dodgers. Hopefully they'll have better luck with the Giants than they did with Oakland.

After a rocky start to the road trip in Oakland, the Reds have come back to complete back-to-back shutouts for the first time since September of 2016.

Last night the Reds took an early 4-0 lead. The game stayed that way until the 9th, when the Reds added 3 more to win the game 7-0, with starting pitcher Luis Castillo striking out a career high 11 batters.

Hopefully this streak of good luck will continue.

After blowing a 3-1 lead, the Reds tied the game with a solo home run by Suarez in the 5th and took the lead on an RBI single in the 7th, hanging on to beat the Giants 5-4. The Reds have now won three in a row and five of their last eight games. Things certainly seem to be looking up for the team.

Reds ended the road trip with a 6-5 loss to the Giants. Off day tomorrow then we start a series against the Cubs on Tuesday.

Reds have split the first two of three home games against the Cubs.

Last night they lost 3-1.
Tonight they won 6-5 in 10 innings on a walk-off single by Yasiel Puig.

One more game against the Cubs tomorrow, then a weekend series against the Dodgers before heading to Milwaukee and Chicago next week. They finish up the month with a three-game series at home against the Pirates.

It was a rough weekend for the Reds, dropping two out of three games to the Dodgers. Friday they lost 6-0, on Saturday they won 4-0 and on Sunday they lost 8-3.

Coming off that rough weekend, they won the first of three games in Milwaukee 3-0. The team has two more games in Milwaukee and three in Chicago before returning home for four games against the Pirates (including a day-night doubleheader to make up for a game that was rained out early in the season) and three against the Nationals to finish out this month/begin the next month.

Reds lost a wild one today. After going up by 5 in the top of the 2nd, they gave up 1 in the 2nd only to get it back in the 3rd. However, they gave up 3 more in the bottom of the 3rd, 2 in the 4th and 5 in the 6th. They got two more in the 5th and one more in the 7th, but it wasn't enough and they fell to the Brewers 11-9.

Another good weekend series for The Reds. Once again, they took two out of three from the Cubs, including a 10-2 shellacking today. The Reds return home tomorrow to kick off a 7-game homestand against the Pirates and the Nationals, starting with a day-night doubleheader tomorrow (2:10pm and 7:10pm).

Reds split the 4-game series with The Pirates. They lost the first game on Monday, won the second one, won on Tuesday and lost on Wednesday. Off today and start a 3-game weekend series against The Nationals before heading out of town for 8 games. After this weekend they'll be back home on the 14th.

The weekend wasn't as kind to the Reds as they dropped two out of three to the Nationals. Up next is an 8-game road trip - three against the Cardinals, three against the Phillies and two against Cleveland before returning home a week from Friday.

Reds are on a roll now... After a disappointing start to the month, they have now won 5 straight games, taking the last game in the series against Texas, sweeping Houston and now winning the first of four games in Milwaukee. This puts them at 3 games under .500 (35-38) and 2 games ahead of Pittsburgh in the standings. They have three more games against Milwaukee before heading to LA early next week.
